Simple Homemade Pizza

Prep: 20 mins • Rise: 1 hr • Cook: 12–15 mins • Serves: 4

Ingredients — Dough

  • 250 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dry yeast
  • 150 ml (⅔ cup) warm water

Tomato Sauce

  • 3 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, pepper, dried oregano to taste

Toppings (suggestions)

Mozzarella, ham, mushrooms, olives, bell pepper, onions, tuna, etc.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar. Dissolve yeast in warm water and let rest 5 minutes.
  2. Add water and olive oil to flour, knead 5–10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise 1 hour.
  3. Prepare the sauce: heat olive oil, add garlic, tomato puree, salt, pepper, oregano. Simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Roll out dough, spread sauce, add toppings, and finish with cheese.
  5. Bake in preheated oven at 220°C (430°F) for 12–15 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
  6. Let rest 2 minutes, slice, and enjoy!

Tip: For a crispier base, preheat a pizza stone or baking sheet and slide pizza onto it.
